Monograph on clarinet and wind music in Spain

A publication of the IGEB

The book The Clarinte in Spain: Miguel Yuste Moreno (1870-1947) is the first monograph on clarinet and wind music in Spain that examines the professionalization of Spanish clarinettists of the early 19th century. The social, academic and professional environment of wind musicians is addressed by the case study of the clarinettist, teacher, composer and deputy conductor of the Madrid Municipal Wind Band, Miguel Yuste Moreno (1870-1947). An analysis and investigation of the national and international influences on the Spanish clarinet repertoire is made possible by the premiere of Brahms’ Chamber Music for Clarinet. (in English language, 323 pages)
